Title: Sports and Youth Assistant Director


Project Coach, a nationally recognized sports based youth development program, seeks a dynamic team player to fill the role of Sports and Youth Director (SYD). The SYD will further our mission of teaching vulnerable youth to be sport coaches to elementary school children and using the craft of coaching as vehicle to practice high-impact life skills that lead to success in school, career and community. The SYD will support Project Coach youth coaches in their journey toward mastery in coaching and academics and assist the PC director and faculty co-directors in fulfilling our mission, increasing the quality of our programs and ensuring the sustainability of our organization. 


  • Overarching Goals

    • Oversee sport and athletics programming

    • Train, supervise, and assess the performance of adolescent coaches both on the field and in the classroom

    • Teach teens how to develop mastery in coaching by training them to be effective youth sport coaches who plan and execute games-based sport sessions for elementary school students that foster positive youth development, character and positive team culture

    • Mentor teens in the development and practice -- through coaching -- of the high-impact life skills that create success in school and community


  • Qualifications: College degree in education, sports management, exercise science or related field or a combination of related experience. College-level athletic and/or coaching experience or a combination of related experience that shows preparation for the SYD job.

  • Hours & Days: 15 - 20 hours/week. (M - 3:30pm-7:30pm; Th - 3:30-6:30pm; F - 3:30-6:30pm (occasional Saturday and Sunday trainings)
