To be considered for the Smith MAT-Project Coach Fellowship, please:


  1. Apply to the Smith MAT program or the Smith ESS Program.

  2. Complete the Project Coach Fellowship Online Application Form

  3. Submit the following materials to jdilorenzo@smith.edu or US Postal to Jo Glading-DiLorenzo, Morgan Hall, 37 Prospect St., Northampton, MA 01060:

    • A 750-word Essay: "How have co-curricular experiences in your life (sports, arts, theater, community service, journalism or other activities outside the formal academic curriculum) shaped you and informed your academic experience? In other words, what did you learn in your co-curricular experiences that contributed to your ability to achieve and perform academically?"

    • Two Letters of Reference: One from a professor who can write about your academic abilities; and one from somebody who knows about your work with youth or has worked with you in a co-curricular context.


If selected for an interview, we will reach out to schedule a visit to Project Coach during programming hours, typically Tuesday-Friday afternoons between 4-5:30 pm.


Timeline for Spring 2019 Project Coach Fellowship Interview & Selection Process:

January 31: Priority Application Deadline
